Salad with sweet pepper

Sweet peppers are a kind of herbaceous shrub plants of the genus Capsicum of the Nightshade family, with edible fruits, a very useful and popular agricultural crop all over the world. The plant comes from America. At the present time, different cultural sortotypes are known, including Bulgarian pepper . Sweet pepper is grown mainly in the southern temperate, subtropical and tropical latitudes of all continents.

The fruits of sweet pepper contain many useful substances, namely: capsoicin, natural sugars, fiber, proteins, carotenoids, vitamins C, P, B1, B2, essential oil compounds, steroid saponins.

Fruits of sweet pepper can have different colors (red, orange, green, etc.).

Sweet pepper is an ingredient of many dishes, it can be prepared in various ways, but it should be noted that during the heat treatment many useful substances (for example, vitamin C, which is more in sweet pepper than in lemon) are destroyed. Therefore, in the most useful form, sweet pepper is preserved in salads, by the way, without taste, the taste of pepper fruits is the most natural.

Recipes for salads with sweet peppers are known for a great variety, as this fruit is perfectly combined to taste with a variety of products.

Of course, all fruits (except garlic) should be washed with cold water and dried with a clean cloth. We cut sweet peppers with short straws, peeled onions - half rings, tomatoes - arbitrarily, but not too coarse. Brynza cut into small cubes or (if it is dry enough) rub on a large grater. Finely chop the greens and garlic. We combine all the prepared ingredients in a salad bowl, pour the filling (oil + vinegar in the ratio 3: 1), seasoned with hot pepper. Stir the lettuce and let it brew for 10-20 minutes.

Instead of oil and vinegar dressing, you can use natural unsweetened classic yogurt (better than medium fat). You can serve this salad as an independent dish (which is especially important for the fasting and vegetarians of different kinds), as well as with meat or fish dishes.

It should be noted that adding olives to the salad without pits (dark or light, they can be cut into slices) will make the taste of this salad more interesting.

If you want the salad to turn out to be more satisfying, you can add 200-250 g of ham or boiled chicken meat (fillet). To such a salad it is good to serve table balkan wine (for example, Moldovan or Bulgarian) or fruit rakiyu.

We will cut the sweet peppers into short straws, and the peeled onions - half rings. Shred cabbage in the desired amount. Finely chop the greens and garlic. Combine all the prepared ingredients in a salad bowl, fill with a dressing (oil + vinegar or lemon juice in a 3: 1 ratio) and mix. In the salad, you can also include fresh cucumbers and hard-boiled chopped chicken eggs. This salad can be served as a separate light dish or with meat dishes.
