Nowadays, the counters of the markets are full of a wide range of confectionery products. But how can any pastry be compared to the one that is cooked at home, with your own hands? And what flavor the house is filled with, when something delicious and sweet is being baked in the oven! It envelops you like a blanket and you become warm and cozy.

Today we offer to please our relatives and prepare sand pies for them.

Universal recipe for shortcake

In the sifted flour, add the softened margarine and crush it into small pieces so that they are almost not felt by the fingers in the flour. Add sugar powder, stir with flour and margarine, make a hole in the center of the mixture, lay out egg yolks, sour cream, vanillin, salt in it and knead the dough with hands so that all the ingredients are combined into one.

From the dough, we form a ball and put it in the refrigerator for cooling. Then abundantly sprinkle the table with flour and roll out dough 5-7 mm thick. Using a thin glass, cut out the circles. With the help of a spatula we have dough circles on a baking sheet. Lubricate each circle of the dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar and nuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 210 degrees, until their color becomes light golden.

Since this recipe is universal, then sprinkling and glaze can be used any.

Sand cake with jam

The cake made from sand dough always resembles the taste of childhood. But we can plunge into it completely, if we make a delicacy with jam.

We take out the oil from the refrigerator and cut it into pieces, and then we twist it through a fine sieve into a convenient bowl, to knead the dough. Here we sift the flour together with a baking powder and mix thoroughly with oil. We drive in eggs, followed by sugar and salt. We mix the dough with quick movements of the hands. We put in the cold for 40 minutes. Then divide the dough in two and roll out the layers of 7-8 mm. We move them on baking sheets and bake for 15 minutes at 230 degrees. We cut off the finished bases from all sides. We spread them with jam and overlap each other. The top cake with jam, sprinkle with crumbs from the scraps. Now we cut everything into equal cakes.

Preparation

Soft margarine, whisk at a medium speed with a mixer. Continuing to beat, we add: eggs, sugar, slaked soda, milk. After laying the mixer, pour the flour into this bowl and quickly knead the dough, immediately sending it to the chill. A cold dough is rolled out and cut into triangles, if there are molds of other figures, then use them. We bake the received figurines in the wind cabinet 18-20 minutes at 180 degrees.

While everything is cooling down, we'll make the icing. Pour warm water into the metal dishes and pour out the sugar. We put the container on the stove, but that does not burn, we constantly stir. As soon as the syrup begins to thicken, we introduce dye and citric acid. After a couple of minutes on the fire, we set it aside.

Half of the sand triangles spread on jam and connect with empty crusts, and top with glaze.

Such cakes will be liked most of all by children, especially if you use glaze of different colors!
