A good reason for calling an "ambulance" is a sudden increase in body temperature to a mark of 39 degrees, an ongoing chill - these symptoms indicate the ingress of infection.
Another reason for the increase in temperature is the effect of drugs that cause uterine contraction on the nervous system.
