The rupture of the hymen

The hymen is a kind of fold that blocks the entrance to the vagina. It is formed from the mucous membrane, as well as connective tissues. This fold separates the internal genital organs from the external ones. It acts as a barrier that protects against infections.

When and how does the hymen break?

Violation of the integrity of this fold, in most cases occurs during the first sexual intercourse. But in addition, the rupture of the hymen (or defloration) is possible in other cases:

• during intimate caresses using sexual toys or fingers;
• with inaccurate insertion of tampons;
• when masturbating;
• with a gynecological examination (the virgin should inform the doctor that she did not have sexual intercourse);
• with too active erosion of girls in early childhood.

When practicing dance, sports defloration can not happen.

After the rupture of the spleen, there may be a slight bleeding. Usually it is insignificant, and in some women it may be completely absent. Vessels are rapidly shrinking, and this excludes heavy bleeding.

The very process of defloration is accompanied by pain. Its degree depends on the individual characteristics. It happens that sexual intercourse is impossible because of severe pain. In this case, it is worth consulting with a gynecologist, as sometimes the structure of the spit is such that defloration requires medical intervention.

After the rupture of the hymen for several days heals. At this time, unpleasant sensations in the perineum are possible. This is due to the slight inflammation of the wounds, which are formed as a result of defloration.

Usually damage to the integrity of the chaff occurs in several places. The edges gradually heal, and in the areas of the wound there are notches. After the rupture of the spittle looks first, like petals, later resemble small papillae. After 2 weeks, it is impossible to distinguish natural grooves from healed wounds. This can be done only with the help of special equipment that is available to forensic experts.

Sexual life is optimal to start after about 18 years, when the body is already formed and ready for the upcoming changes. It is believed that with the age of the spittle somewhat loses its elasticity and can provoke some increase in pain. However, this is insignificant, and doctors do not put the upper age limits.
