Thinking is a process of mental activity, and intelligence is the ability to do this activity. Many equate the concepts of thinking and intellect, but in fact, one should not confuse power and the phenomenon itself.
Still, the difference between intelligence and thinking is enormous. Thinking is a set of innate (!) Active cognitive processes. This association, perception, attention, analysis, as well as the ability to infer. And the intellect can both develop and lose. Intellect is a set of abilities to carry out the thought process, the ability to learn new things, solving problems and stepping over obstacles. The presence of intelligence means, at the same time, the ability to plan and consciously direct oneself to achieve what is desired. Now it is clear why the intellect is subject to adjustment.
Intelligence development
Developing intelligence, there is also the development of thinking, as these are closely interrelated concepts. There is one way to succeed - and that's working on your intelligence.
The first step to improving one's mental faculties is the realization that one must learn all of life. Only then the person becomes inquisitive and open to everything new and unknown. Your consciousness , thinking and intellect will grow if you begin to train them continuously:
- ask yourself the question "what if?";
- come up with new routes to get to the points you know;
- come up with a new application for bored things;
- solve puzzles, puzzles, logical tasks;
- try to work more with your non-main hand.
Intellectual disability
Violation of thinking and intellect can be innate, and perhaps even acquired. An innate disorder of the intellect is called oligophrenia. Acquired by dementia.
Congenital oligophrenia also has its gradation. This is - debility, idiocy, imbecility. At the same time, not only the ability to think, but also to the most elementary physical labor, is broken (and not restored) in patients, patients are unable even to self-service with idiocy.
