Treatment of influenza in lactation

After giving birth, the woman's body is weakened and the probability of acute respiratory diseases is high. Treatment of influenza in lactation is different from the treatment of a woman who does not breastfeed.

There is a risk of a child's illness, so during illness many mothers stop breastfeeding the child in order to avoid the disease. But this is a wrong decision, in the body of the mother, immunoglobulins are produced, transmitted with breast milk, thanks to which the child acquires immunity before the disease. And this means: the more the nursing mother will put the baby to the breast, the less the risk of the baby's disease. Of course, you need to limit the time of communication with the child and put on your mother a medical mask.

Than to treat a flu to nursing mum?

Influenza in a nursing mother is treated as much as possible without a pharmacological method, since paracetamol, which comes in almost all the flu medications, can be transmitted and harmed when lactating. But a severe flu with breastfeeding, accompanied by fever, is also treated with medicines - those that can be used for children under 6 years old. Treatment of influenza in nursing begins with the reception Aflubina, detailed instructions for use which is attached to each bottle. With a serious fever in the mother, Nurofen can be used in a dosage for adults.

Also, flu when lactating is treated with folk remedies, but only if there are no allergic reactions in the child to honey, lemon, red berries and herbs.

That's what the flu should be treated for breastfeeding mother, if allergy tests are not confirmed:

If the nursing mother is only ill with the flu, you need to immediately take action - to get your feet in hot water, drink hot tea or milk. At night, you can make a compress, put on socks with dry mustard, breathe over the hot potatoes, cooked "in a uniform", warm with a blue lamp.

Drugs for flu in lactation are prescribed exclusively by the treating doctor, and the treatment of influenza treatment in breastfeeding should be under the supervision of a doctor.

There is an alternative

Instead of treating the flu in a nursing mother and worrying about the health of the child, it is better to have a timely flu prevention during lactation, which consists of long walks in the fresh air, avoiding people's pandemoniums during epidemics, taking vitamins (better natural) and a good mood.
