Interestingly, when it comes to cherries, we all understand that this is a "normal", domestic, natural, native and favorite fruit, or rather, a stone fruit. But why, then this fruit equally gives birth to almost the entire globe - in the world there are more than 4,000 varieties of sweet cherry and they are all "native" in their lands.
There is a theory that the distribution of sweet cherries throughout the world has been helped by birds. In Latin, the plant is called Cerasus avium, which literally translates as "bird cherry". Not surprisingly, after all, the cherry tree was very "rolya" - 20 m was considered the normal height of the tree, only birds could feast on fruits. Feathers, in the main, consume it directly with a bone, and it often freely passes through their esophagus and grows in new soil.
Of course, our distant ancestors were inspired to "acculturation" of the tree is not what useful substances and vitamins are in cherries. This fruit, alas, was not included in the collection of recipes for traditional medicine - we have to admit that we appreciate it for its taste. But this does not mean that the content of vitamins in cherries has lost its relevance - we want to know what we eat!
What are the beneficial substances in the cherry and its calorie content?
Let's start, perhaps, with what interests even those who firmly decided that it is not going to lose weight. That is, with calories. In 100 g of sweet cherries only 47.8 kcal. This pleasant ratio of taste, sweetness and diet is achieved due to the high water content in the cherry (for it is known to be the most dietary that we have) - in fruits of it up to 85%.
The remaining 15% are distributed as follows:
- Proteins - 1,1%;
- fats - 0,4%;
- carbohydrates - 10-11%.
Let's enumerate the vitamins contained in the cherry:
- beta-carotene - like any other product of red color and plant origin, cherry contains carotene, a substance from which vitamin A is synthesized in our body;
- vitamin E;
- vitamin C;
- vitamins B1, B2;
- vitamin PP.
With vitamins, everything is clear. Now we will consider what useful substances and nutrients the sweet cherry contains:
- potassium;
- sodium;
- calcium;
- phosphorus;
- magnesium;
- zinc;
- iron;
- cobalt;
- manganese;
- copper.
Organic acids in the cherry are few - they are much more in the cherry, although due to their absence, the sweet cherry is much sweeter, which makes it much more popular than the "useful" sister (it turns out that the absence of organic acids only benefits it).
In principle, the record for the composition of vitamins and other benefits of cherry is not, although, on the other hand, all the useful properties of the above substances find its manifestation in it:
- cherry removes swelling, is useful for kidney and hypertension, since the diuretic effect is always combined with lowering blood pressure;
- it dilutes blood, is useful to people suffering from atherosclerosis and thrombophlebitis;
- It is useful for anemia, anemia, as a source of iron of plant origin;
- improves the patient's condition with intestinal atony, spastic colitis, constipation;
- due to the high content of fiber (in the wild cherries it is more than in the cultured one),
Clears the body of toxins, decay products, free radicals, removes cholesterol; - in cherries there are phytohormones - in their action they are similar to female sex hormones, and for this account, berries help get rid of neuroses, depressions, and just mood swings.
Well, and, finally, we remind that the cherry is fresh, the more preserved in it useful substances. Identify the fresh berries from not very fresh simply - the stems should be clearly green, and dry, darkened stems indicate that the berry is either overripe and will soon deteriorate, or long awaits its client.
