Chills in pregnancy

Each female organism reacts differently to the onset of pregnancy. Some future mothers do not experience anything, and learn about the begun pregnancy only after the test, while others - from the first days begin to feel unwell and changes in the body: fatigue, fever or simply there is a chill.

Causes of chills during pregnancy

Quite often women in the early stages of pregnancy complain that they periodically shiver, and this phenomenon is observed without a rise in temperature. You can explain it in the following way.

The optimal temperature for normal development of the fetal egg is 37 degrees. That is why just before the ovulation process, the body temperature slightly increases, which can be accompanied by the appearance of chills. This phenomenon is accompanied by an increase in the production of progesterone, which after the onset of conception is synthesized in large numbers.

Chills at later stages of pregnancy can be a sign of the development of a so-called frozen pregnancy , which develops primarily in the first trimester. Signs of this pathology may be a drop in basal temperature, a sharp disappearance of toxicosis and an end to swelling of the mammary glands. This condition requires urgent medical attention. It consists in interrupting pregnancy surgically.

Also, the cause of chills is the presence in the history of pregnancy of such a disease as vegetative-vascular dystonia.

What to do with chills?

Many women sometimes do not know why they are with normal current pregnancy, shivering. The first thing that comes to mind is the cold that needs to be treated as soon as possible. In such cases, it is necessary first of all to see the doctor and not engage in self-medication.
