The size of the sour cream apple is very large: some specimens can reach a weight of 4.5 to 7 kg and can be up to 35 cm in length and 15 cm in width. They grow in different shapes, they are found both oval and similar to the heart. Before full ripening, the skin of the fetus is dark green, and as it ripens, it turns yellow. The fully ripened fruit has a creamy white dense flesh, similar to cotton wool and tastes like pineapple. The whole pulp is covered with inedible dark seeds.

This unusual fruit is very rich in useful substances for the human body: proteins, iron, carbohydrates, fructose, calcium, folic acid, phosphorus, vitamins C, B1 and B2.

In countries where sausep trees are not cultivated, its fruits are mostly used fresh and used for desserts and cocktails, mixing with brandy and various spices.

And in the countries of natural growth of the sour apple, its fruits are used by local residents both in cooking and in medicine.
