There are many nutrition systems that imply the exclusion of a number of products from the diet, and they have their advantages and disadvantages, which is important to consider. Not many know what macrobiotic is and what rules there are in this doctrine, although it appeared many years ago.
What is this macrobiotic?
The doctrine of improving the body, based on the separation of products according to their energy, yin (female) and yang (male) is macrobiotic. In the eastern countries, philosophers and scientists believe that everything around (objects, organisms, phenomena) has one of two energies. For the first time, a doctor from Japan, Sagan Ichidzuka, spoke of the positive effects of macrobiotics. To a greater extent, this doctrine was developed by the American physician George Osawa. Macrobiotics or the art of prolonging human life implies the passage of seven important steps.
- The diet should consist of 40% of cereals, 30% of vegetables, 10% of the first dishes and 20% of low-fat meat and it is better if it is white.
- At the next stage the percentage ratio varies and cereals should be 50%, 30% of vegetables, 10% of the first dishes and 10% of meat.
- Basics of macrobiotics indicate that in the third stage it is necessary to switch to vegetarianism and cereals should be 60%, vegetables - 30%, and the first dishes - 10%.
- At the next stage, the number of soups does not change, but vegetables need to eat 10% less, which are transferred to cereals.
- Having reached this step, the first dishes are completely excluded, and again there is a 10% transition from vegetables to cereals.
- To this stage there are only 10% of vegetables in the diet, and the rest is cereals.
- At the last step the diet should consist entirely of cereal crops. It is believed that reaching this period you can completely cure diseases and achieve harmony with nature.
Macrobiotics and raw food - which is better?
Each current has its own fans and opponents. The basis of the ration of raw food are vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans and so on. If we consider them from the point of macrobiotics, then there is a lot of passive energy, which is cooling. In a cold climate, additional "cooling" is useless. Adherents of macrobiotics at this time use products that have undergone thermal treatment. All this is important for health. Comparing that it is better to eat raw food and macrobiotic, it is worth noting that in the first case there are more products harmful to the figure and health.
Macrobiotic products
According to the teachings, all products have energy, and it can affect a person from the positive or negative side. It is important to know what products are related to yin, and what yang is, what to eat by balancing these two energies:
- Yin is a feminine and passive energy. Products create an acid reaction in the body. This group includes sugar, fruits, dairy products, some vegetables and others.
- Jan is a masculine and active energy. Such macrobiotic food creates an alkaline reaction in the body and includes red meat, fish, eggs and some poultry meat.
Macrobiotic nutrition is recommended to exclude from the diet products that have a pronounced passive or active energy, as they find it difficult to balance with each other. As a result, there is an imbalance in the body, and this causes diseases. The main products allowed are: whole grains and products from them, vegetables and mushrooms, legumes and products from them, and also seaweed.
