Pregnancy after caesarean section

If the pregnancy ends with Caesarean section, women have many questions. When can I re-plan a child? How will the next pregnancy take place? Is it possible to give birth in a natural way? Will there be complications?

Cesarean section: consequences for the mother

Caesarean section is a method of delivery, in which a newborn is removed from the uterus by means of a transverse or longitudinal incision in the lower abdomen. Not only the stomach is cut, but also the organ in which the fruit is harvested within nine months, the uterus. Therefore, the main consequence after cesarean section is the presence of a scar on it. And if the scar in the lower abdomen heals in two to three months after delivery, the uterine scar will take more than a year. The period when it is already possible to plan pregnancy after cesarean section, should be at least two years. In addition, the body takes time to recover the expended forces after the operation.

Planning a second pregnancy after caesarean section

If a woman decides to have a second child, then first of all she needs to visit a gynecologist and tell her about her intention. In addition to the usual in the planning of tests, a woman will be offered to examine the scar on the uterus. For this, ultrasound, hysterography or hysteroscopy is done. In the first method, the uterine surface is examined using a vaginal sensor. Hysterography is performed in the X-ray room. After entering into the uterus of the contrast material, pictures are taken in the straight and lateral projections. With hysteroscopy, the study of postoperative scar is possible thanks to an endoscope - a sensor inserted into the uterine cavity. For normal bearing of the child, the best option is the result, when scar is practically not detected. It is equally important to know what kind of fabric the seam is overgrown. Preferably, the scar consists of muscle tissue. The basis of connective tissue is the worst option.

At the onset of pregnancy after cesarean section in women's consultation, women are given increased attention: they perform palpation of the uterus, they are examined in the ultrasound room. This is important in order to detect the divergence of the seam in time and take action. In future mothers who have already had a cesarean, the chances of a threat of abortion, hypertension, hypoxia are many times greater.

Second delivery after cesarean section

The decision on natural delivery is taken after the results of ultrasound at the 28-35 week of pregnancy, when it is investigated whether the seam does not diverge. In addition, it is taken into account whether a woman has reasons that are an indication for the operation (incorrect presentation of the fetus, retinal disorders, etc.). The physician's decision about natural delivery is influenced by such factors as the high location of the placenta, preferably on the back wall, a cross-section on the uterus, the correct location of the fetus. In the absence of contraindications, a woman will be allowed to give birth on her own, but from stimulation and anesthesia will have to be abandoned. These procedures can increase uterine contraction and lead to its rupture.

In any case, the future mother should tune in to a successful outcome and try to give birth to herself. After all, there are known consequences of caesarean section for a child, such as poor adaptation to the environment, the possibility of food allergies, neurological and respiratory disorders.

However, if there was an early pregnancy after cesarean section, a repeat operation can not be avoided. It is carried out on schedule, and, sometimes earlier than the due date, because of the pressure of a rapidly growing fetus, there is a risk of rupture of the uterus. And this carries a danger to the life of both the child and the future mother.
