Salad with cod liver - recipe

The simplicity of preparing salad from canned cod liver is commendable, not to mention the usefulness of it itself - rich in fish oil, which only cod is stored in the liver, while in other fish it is in the muscles. Once the cod liver was considered a delicacy, and it was extremely difficult to get it. Now you can buy canned food in any store and do not have to wait for a special holiday to make a salad from cod liver. The liver itself is a fat enough product and is in its pure form heavily, but in a salad with the addition of onions, eggs, boiled potatoes or other products, perfectly combined.


Salad from cod liver

A classic cod liver salad contains eggs, green onions and, in fact, the cod liver itself. All ingredients are finely chopped, mixed and seasoned with mayonnaise or specially prepared sauce. We suggest you try a more intense salad recipe, with the addition of boiled vegetables.

Potatoes and carrots boil and peel. Cut potatoes into small cubes, carrot and eggs grate. Salted or marinated cucumbers cut into small cubes. Drain the canned oil, put the cod liver in a bowl and mash with a fork. Add to the liver chopped potatoes, eggs, carrots and cucumbers, mix well. If necessary, add salt and dressing the salad with mayonnaise.

For refueling, you can also mix lemon juice with a few spoons of canned oil, mustard, olive oil, salt and spices.

When preparing a salad from the cod liver, it is allowed not to mix the products, but spread them in layers, for example, in a portioned glass salad bowl. Then grease the top with mayonnaise, which your guests mix with the ingredients themselves. You can decorate a salad with grated yolks and greens. This design of salad from cod liver will look great on the table and will not let the salad to flow before the time.

Mimosa salad with cod liver

The salad "Mimosa" always looks festive on the table thanks to its appearance. There are several "Mimosa" recipes, but the following variant of cod liver salad is unusually tasty and has a delicate consistency. Be sure to use a well-chilled butter when cooking, then it will be easy to rub on the grater.

Separately we rub on the grater boiled squirrels and egg yolks. We merge the oil from the can with the cod liver and knead it with a fork. Cheese and butter, previously well-chilled, grate. Onion finely chopped. Then lay out layers on the dish: proteins, cheese, cod liver, mayonnaise, butter, onions, cod liver, mayonnaise, yolks. Ready salad is covered and sent to the refrigerator for a couple of hours to impregnate. On top of the salad you can decorate with greens, olives or try to lay a twig of mimosa - then the name of the salad will be completely reflected in its design.

It is worth noting that instead of potatoes you can use boiled rice and cook a cod liver salad with rice. For the recipe, take the ingredients from the calculation: for 1 can of liver cod, 100 g of boiled rice, 2 eggs and 1 onion. All the products, except rice cut, mix and season with salt and mayonnaise. And crack on health!
