Considering the fact that in our time the problem of homosexuality becomes a problem of a planetary scale, there are adherents of exclusively traditional sexual relations, and this inevitably entails the emergence of such a thing as the propaganda of homophobia.
Homophobia is an offensive ideological pattern that is routinely used by homosexuals in the form of accusations against those people who are supporters of morality and traditional family values. In Russia, the law on homophobia mentions the year 1706 the introduction by Peter I of a criminal article for homosexuality, although even during Ivan the Terrible the boyars eschewed the approximate tsar who showed strange passions.
In 1972, homophobia was defined as a fear of contact with people of non-traditional orientation, and if we talk about the homosexuals themselves, that means their fear of themselves. For such people, homophobia can become an internal problem when it loses control over homosexual fears and the images that they cause. The loss of such control occurs from the moment of doubt in the normality of its orientation, here it is gaining momentum, the images begin to attack its creator.
Causes of homophobia
The international classification of mental illnesses does not consider homosexuality a disease. Children who are brought up in same-sex couples become homosexuals no more than children who are raised in traditional families. Homosexuals do not require privileges, special political rights and benefits. Where does homophobia come from?
Statistics show that the position of most people is neutral and only about 20% of people show homophobic attitudes. In this case, the following areas are distinguished:
- a tolerant position that recognizes the psychological, social and moral worthiness and equality of representatives of non-traditional orientation;
- consistently homophobic attitude, when the attitude towards lesbians and gays is traced, as inadequate or even that threaten the society (they require restriction of their rights, treatment or criminal prosecution);
- a neutral position, that is, the absence of any interest in the problem or unwillingness to express one's opinion;
- a conjuncture position, that is, a position that varies depending on the current information, your own emotional state and situation.
- a special group is represented by people who retain the status quo, that is, those who are quite satisfied with the existing situation (absence of repression and non-discrimination).
Tests for homophobia show that it can be open and hidden. Hidden is characterized by the fact that a person condemns such sexual relations, considers them to be a deviation, but is not going to express his discontent or take any active actions. But, unfortunately, there are also fanatics who do not hesitate to state that homosexuals should be destroyed,
How to get rid of homophobia?
Get rid of homophobia a person can only when he does not need a complex of protection. Without psychoanalysis here is indispensable. It is important to remember that for each individual person homophobia is a social position, to which he has every right, but only if he does not forget the principle that the freedom of his kulak must end where freedom of another's nose begins.
