The labor education of children begins at an early age, in the family, when the child develops elementary ideas about work as a form of activity. Work has always been one of the main means involved in the formation of personality . That is why today, special attention is paid to the labor education of schoolchildren.
Tasks of labor education
The main tasks of labor education of children in educational institutions (schools) are:
- the formation in children of a positive attitude to the labor process, which is one of the highest values of life;
- development of cognitive interest in obtaining knowledge, aspiration to apply them in practical activities;
- the upbringing of a child's high moral and psychological qualities, diligence, responsibility and a sense of duty .
Types of work
The labor education of junior schoolchildren has its own peculiarities and methods, which are determined by economic and economic, as well as production capacities of the district and a single school. In general, educational work is usually divided into:
- mental;
- physical.
As is known, the mental form of labor requires more volitional efforts, perseverance and patience. That is why the child must be accustomed to everyday mental work.
In addition to mental work, the school curriculum also provides for physical labor, which is carried out during the lessons of labor training. Thus, physical labor contributes to the creation of conditions for the manifestation of the moral qualities of children, forms a sense of collectivism, mutual assistance and respect for the results of their peers.
So it is possible to single out so-called socially useful work. Its peculiarity is that it is organized, first of all, in the interests of all the members of the collective. However, one should not forget about the interests of an individual child.
