Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Lymphoma is an oncology that affects the lymphatic system. Lymphomas are of two types: named in honor of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin's. The concept of "non-Hodgkin's lymphoma" includes a large number of different forms and types of disease. It includes about thirty similar diseases. They are all malignant and represent a serious danger to humans.

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma - What is this disease?

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a common form of cancer. It affects the lymphocytes and the lymphoid tissue that protects the body. The latter is in large quantities in the lymph nodes. It is these organs that suffer from lymphoma most often. As shown by the disappointing practice, other bodies can not boast of invulnerability. Nehodka's lymphoma can affect any part of the body, regardless of the amount of lymphoid tissue it contains.

Getting to the bone marrow, malignant cells interfere with the formation of leukocytes, platelets, erythrocytes. Because of what the body becomes practically helpless: the tissues lack oxygen, the blood loses the ability to fold, the immunity seriously worsens.

Lymphocytes are of two types: T- and B-cells. Malignant cells can form in both species. But mostly in-cellular non-Hodgkin's lymphomas predominate over the lymphoblastic t-cell forms of the disease. Than this is explained, even experts are even more difficult to say.

Lymphomas are more affected by middle-aged and older men. Sometimes the disease is diagnosed in children. Moreover, young patients often suffer from aggressive, rapidly developing, lymphoma forms.

Stages of development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma

Like any other oncology, the Nehodka lymphoma at different stages of development manifests itself in different ways:

  1. The first stage is characterized by one affected lymph node.
  2. The second stage is diagnosed when the problem has touched two adjacent lymph nodes.
  3. The patient's condition worsens with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the third degree. In this case, the disease affects several lymph nodes located on opposite sides of the diaphragm.
  4. The most severe is non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the 4th stage. At this stage, in addition to lymph nodes, internal organs and tissues can also suffer.

And if the initial stages can be asymptomatic, then it is simply impossible not to notice lymphoma of the third or fourth degree.

Symptoms of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma

Depending on the form of the disease and the state of health, the manifestations of lymphoma can change. But there are several symptoms inherent in both follicular, and immunoblastic, and diffuse, and any other form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma:

  1. The patient raises his temperature without cause.
  2. Patients with lymphoma sweat strongly at night even in the coldest weather.
  3. Another common symptom is a sharp weight loss. Moreover, this happens also for no apparent reason.
  4. In many patients, lymph nodes become inflamed and enlarged. But with this they do not cause any discomfort.
  5. Sometimes patients experience headaches , nausea, and visual impairment.
  6. Pale is also considered a bad sign.
  7. In some cases, patients suffer from nervous system disorders, fall into depression.

The prognosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is different. If the disease is detected on time, then it is relatively easy to completely get rid of it. An important role is played by the age of the patient, the size of the tumor, its location, and the rate of growth.

Of course, with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of stage 4, one must prepare for a disappointing prognosis. The fight against the disease in this case will be more complex and time-consuming.
