Caloric content of beef is 144-187 kcal per 100 g. For nutrition during diets it is better to choose veal, which contains a reduced amount of fat, and caloric content drops to 90 units.

The food and energy value of pig meat is quite high. Its calorific value is from 320 to 487 kcal. It contains amino acids important for human beings, minerals and some vitamins. However, of all meat, pork is considered to be the most fatty and including the least amount of proteins.
