In the bowl sift flour with soda, make a small hole in the middle, drive in the egg, pour kefir and add salt. We knead the dough, it should turn out to be quite steep, but at the same time elastic. Now proceed to the preparation of the filling. Cottage cheese mix with sugar, add vanilla sugar and yolk. If you want to get a pasty filling, use a blender or a mixer, and if you like granular cottage cheese, it's enough just to mix a good spoonful with a good amount. On the flour-poured table, we roll the dough into a layer 3-4 mm thick. A glass of the correct diameter we make circles, inside of which we impose a stuffing and we patch edges. We put the vareniki on the pallet of the steamer, pre-lubricated with oil, so that during the preparation they do not stick to the grate. Turn on the steam cooker, if you have it electric, we set the timer cooking time 20 minutes. Ready-made dumplings are served to the table with sour cream and if desired, adorned with berries.

How to cook frozen dumplings in a double boiler?

Vareniki homemade cooking is undoubtedly tastier than purchased frozen. But still, if sometimes, for want of time or for some other reason, you bought semi-finished products, prepare them in a double boiler. Defreezing them with this is strictly not recommended, otherwise all the dough will remain on the grate. Put the frozen dumplings in a tray and turn on the steamer, everything as usual, only the cooking time will increase and amount to 25 minutes.
