Abdominal obesity

Depending on where the majority of fat cells are deposited in the body, obesity is divided into three main types: visceral, gynoid and abdominal. The latter is characterized by the fact that the maximum number of fat cells is concentrated in the abdomen.

Abdominal obesity - diagnosis

To determine the abdominal type of obesity is very simple: waist and hips are measured, and their correlation is revealed. The lower limit of the critical mark is 0.85 for women and 1.0 for men. Any variants of the ratios above the indicated numbers indicate the presence of obesity of the indicated type.

The causes of abdominal obesity

As a rule, obesity develops in those people who have long enjoyed gluttony. As a result of regular overeating and too frequent irritation of the taste buds, the work of the hypothalamus, the part of the brain in which the food center is located, is disrupted. Because of this, there is an uncontrolled feeling of hunger , which a person immediately jams with snacks and meals.

As a result, the food receptors get even more irritation, there is a strong overeating. The body is not able to consume all the energy it receives from food, and this provokes it to store fat cells, which, in fact, are "canned" energy. In the future, this process is repeated, and obesity is increasing.

Often, these processes coexist with a reduced concentration of serotonin - the "joy hormone", which causes a person to become depressed (which many are also accustomed to "seize"). As a result, there is a violation of nutrition and overeating, caused by a person's mental state.

Abdominal obesity is found in both women and men, and treatment in this case is a necessity. Indeed, the mere presence of this disease provokes problems with the heart, blood vessels and all internal organs.

Abdominal obesity - treatment

In order to overcome such a disease, it is important to take comprehensive measures, and do it continuously for a long time. A properly formulated plan of action for abdominal obesity includes diet, sports training, as well as often counseling therapist and taking antidepressants. It is important to firmly follow the goal and every day to take a small step forward, because only consistent actions guarantee the result.
